The Sun Rays are an experienced acoustic duo who incorporate a soulful spin on beloved and timeless songs from the last sixty years, while also covering a diverse range of music from across the world with their own unique twist.
The Sun Rays bring a delightful and show-stopping performance to your venue, covering standards and popular hits in soul, funk, R&B, hip-hop, jazz improv, pop, latin, rock, and much more. With a standard lineup of guitar and vocals, The Sun Rays are perfect as background music or as the main focus for your evening entertainment.
A charismatic and multilingual acoustic duo, the versatility of Sun Rays can’t be overstated – with an award winning singer-songwriter and successful musician and producer at the forefront of the band, colourful personalities, modern sound, and extensive experience all combine to create a world-class performance.
With a repertoire that covers five languages (English, Russian, Latvian, Spanish and Hebrew) The Sun Rays perform a varied mix of genres. Their soulfulness flows through jazz and funk standards and modern pop and rock hits. They also cover timeless songs from the 60s to the present day, Latin Pop, Russian and Jewish songs, and a range of recommended ‘first dances’. With improvisation, guitar percussion, call and response, beat-box, rap, and audience engagement thrown in, when you book The Sun Rays, expect the unexpected!
If this wasn’t enough, The Sun Rays offer what they call a ‘Special Occasion Surprise Serenade’ – a unique and touching musical experience perfect for an engagement, proposal, birthday, or other special event in someone’s life. So long as live music is permitted, The Sun Rays will serenade your loved ones at any location you can think of – be it a shopping centre or a car park!
The Sun Rays formed their current duo after seven years’ playing together in different projects. The duo have a list of prestigious corporate clients behind them – Amazon, Adidas, and Barclays to name a few, and they have performed at countless ceremonies and charities. Their lead singer has worked with Michele Williams of Destiny’s child, Emeli Sandé, and has wowed crowds at Wembley, Hammersmith Apollo, and Shepherd’s Bush!
The Sun Rays provide background music and a special request or first dance, plus two extra live special requests as standard on the night. A manned DJ service is available for an additional fee. They’re self contained, providing PA and lighting on the day themselves, and provide an adaptable acoustic set up. You can arrange for keys to be played instead of guitar, or customise the lineup to full show-band proportions by adding a male vocalist, saxophone, cajon or percussion, bass or double bass, and violin! The Sun Rays also offer an optional 30 minutes or 60 minutes of performance, as well as the addition of a 30 minute Russion performance.
This versatile and multi-talented act are available for performances all over the UK as an acoustic duo for weddings, parties and corporate events.
Female vocals, guitar and backing vocals.
